Halloween - A real Trick or Treat

I remember those costumes and my wife's preparation for the big event. That first one was sure cute with his little body dressed in Pumpkin attire. Ok the second one was dressed just like the first for his first celebration of the eve of All Saints Day. Trick or Treat has changed over the years since Halloween seems to bring out the best of the baddest. Now we have to have the goodies xrayed and tested to check for things that shouldn't be there.

In this day and age it is better to make sure you know the people your children will visit. We didn't let our children go alone and we didn't let them go to the houses of people we didn't know. We occasionally went to alternative parties offered by churches and community centers to allow the kids to have fun playing games and fill their pumpkin buckets with goodies. You can never be too cautious when dealing with others, especially the ones you do not know.

The important thing is that Halloween and Trick or Treat needs to be a family affair. Make sure that the parties and goodies are safe and age appropriate for the little ones. Your piece of mind is a good thing as you raise your little ones toward adult hood.
